Under Jordanian Presidency, Arab Labour Conference Discusses the Future of Jobs in the Region

Al-Taj News – The 52nd session of the Arab Labour Conference will begin tomorrow, Sunday, in the Egyptian capital Cairo, under the presidency of Jordan. The conference is organized by the Arab Labour Organization from September 13 to 20, 2026, with the participation of representatives of the three production parties from 21 Arab countries.

The Jordanian delegation to the conference, which is held under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, is headed by Minister of Transport and Minister of Labour Dr. Nidal Al-Qatamin, in the presence of labour ministers, heads of delegations, and representatives of employers and workers, in addition to representatives of Arab, regional, and international organizations and federations.

The conference will discuss key issues related to the future of work and development in the Arab region, foremost among them sustainable economic growth, comprehensive and equitable social development, the effects of climate change on the work environment, and ways to enhance occupational safety and health and adapt to climate risks.

The conference will also examine the prospects of startups amid digital transformation and their role in promoting entrepreneurship and creating new job opportunities.

The conference will also address issues related to skills development and aligning them with the needs of labour markets, promoting employment and combating unemployment, in a way that supports the development of Arab labour policies capable of keeping pace with economic, technological, and social transformations.
